In sum, for this price it's an affordable piano that can do almost all that I need, so I'm happy with it and I hope it lasts so many years. I think this type of units can have more controls, as it has two big empty frames on each side, but it happens the same with the S series. No aftertouch, which in 2019 should be a standard in this kind of hardware. The little screen is useful but it should be at least bigger or similar to the layout of the S series MK1. Todo esto desde un elemento central totalmente integrado que resulta perfecto tanto para el estudio como para el directo. The clicking sound from the buttons is really loud, really. It's quite heavy and bulky, so you need a lot of space for it. Also, I need no mapping at all, I love plug and play things without messing around with configuration files and so on :) I can control some basic features from Studio One which is what I was looking for. Native Instruments' retooled Komplete Kontrol S61 MK2 includes powerful new features such as high-resolution full-color displays, pitch and mod wheels, a four-directional push encoder, and more, along with unrivaled integration with your Komplete instrument collection. Another good point are all transportation buttons that it has, useful for DAW and also for the Komplete Kontrol plugin. The Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S61 MK2 integrates MIDI input and output connections, two pedal inputs, power supply input and USB connection. It reminds me the feeling of a real piano, it's no so plasticky and looks like a premium unit. The good point are the keys and seamless integration with all Komplete products I have. Now we want to select and delete the default keyboard if any (unless of course, you have another device that you have already connected that you wish to keep active.I bought this piano after comparing all 61 keys midi controllers, and this seems to be the one with the best integration in Studio One. In Reason, here is the solution I ultimately found to get it to show up, do stuff, and behave: KOMPLETE KONTROL S61 now sports ergonomic pitch and mod wheels, plus a touch strip for expanded creative possibilities. There is really no way around it if you want the keyboard to be more than a standard MIDI keyboard. The first thing you have to do for any DAW to work with the A25 is to install the Komplete Kontrol software using Native Access. The most daunting of these was getting it to work with Reason 11. Unfortunately, it is not a plug and play device I found that every single DAW I tried it with needed special handling to get it to talk and even then the features were inconsistent. Of the Komplete Kontrol family of hardware, the A-series, and the A25, in particular, is the small but very robust solution that sort of hits the sweet spot between this functionality, affordability, while not compromising the hefty build components that feel so pro. The Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol ecosystem / NKS family is pretty cool in that it theoretically lets you navigate a large library of virtual instruments, their presets and parameters all from your MIDI controller keyboard.
